About me

Picture
My name is Christos Tombras.

I am a member of The Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research (CFAR) and the College of Psychoanalysts - UK (CP-UK). My work abides by their strict codes of ethics.

Also I am a registered member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and of the College for Psychoanalysis and Jungian Analysis Council.

My private practice is based in West Hampstead, North West London (NW6). Please click here for details.

I work in English and Greek.

Apart from my private clinical experience, I have also worked as psychotherapist in the department of Liaison Psychiatry, at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital, London, and managed, for a number of years, a Supported Living Scheme for people with mental health issues in North London.

My current research interests concern a dialogue between contemporary philosophy and Lacanian psychoanalysis, and have published articles on the subject. See also my blog.

My educational background is in Humanities (B.A. Hons.) and Psychology (Pg.Dip. Psych). I also hold a diploma in Film Direction.

Before training as a psychoanalyst I worked for several years as a journalist and a translator.

Depending on time (and inspiration) I continue to engage myself in short digital video projects.
